 Velocity Print Solutions Announces

Spring Community Service Projects to celebrate Earth Day

Albany, NY –

Velocity is proud to announce its Spring Community Service Projects that will benefit both the Verizon Wireless Hopeline® program and the Lions Club Recycle for Sight® program. Beginning in April, each Velocity office will be a drop off point for eyeglasses and used cellphones.   “We believe that these two programs fit perfectly with our environmental initiatives and charitable endeavors. We are pleased to offer these services to our local communities,” said Jim Stiles, CEO of Velocity Print Solutions.

The Verizon Wireless HopeLine phone recycling program lets individuals be involved in the prevention of domestic violence by donating old or unused wireless phones and accessories from any service provider in any condition. Each of our offices will have a container in their reception areas where you can drop off any brand unused, inactive wireless phones. Phone recycling also helps the environment. Reusing cell phones extends their life and maximizes their value before they're recycled. Recycling helps keep electronic waste and batteries out of our landfills.

The Lions Club Recycle for Sight program is another wonderful service that provides eyeglasses to adults and children in developing countries. Velocity is working in conjunction with the Scotia Glenville Lions Club. Once collected, and given to the Lions, the used eyeglasses are cleaned and classified by prescription. They are then distributed, to those in need, in developing countries by trained Lions volunteers and other organizations hosting optical missions. Anyone having used prescription or nonprescription glasses or sunglasses in their drawers, desks, or closets, can drop them off at our offices. Children's glasses are especially needed. Both plastic and metal frames are accepted. A container will be available in our reception areas.

Velocity Print Solutions, a northeast based company with offices in Lynn, MA; Middlebury, CT and Scotia, NY, provides a complete range of services which include digital and offset printing, promotional products, mailing, distribution and fulfillment. Velocity is also a Certified Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody printer for all three locations. Customers can choose environmentally responsible paper for print projects and know that they are supporting the harvesting of wood from well managed forests.
